About Dr. Farole
Education
As a first-generation American and college graduate, I have achieved many firsts. Among them is being the first in my family to gain entrance to university. I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology (and a minor in Political Science) from the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, Washington. I am also the first to earn a PhD in my family. My PhD from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is in Political Science. As a graduate of two of the top universities in the US and in the world, and now as a professor, I know what it takes to thrive in academic publishing.
Experience
I have 12 years of experience in higher education. Currently, I am a professor and I teach courses in Political Science and International Studies. During my time in academia, I have developed an expertise in developmental editing of academic journal articles. In addition to developmental editing, I have also given feedback to students and colleagues on the principles of good research design. I have extensive experience with one-on-one mentoring at various stages of the research development process, from structuring idea generation to teaching how to develop research proposals, including refining the research question, literature review, theory, and data collection. I have an easy-going personality, but I’m also driven to help others produce top-notch academic papers.
I specialize in empirical research projects (quantitative or qualitative) in the social sciences.
